Alrighty then……where are my rum people????
Have I got a treat for you!! Allow me to introduce you to Forbidden Fruit!!
We sliced up some tart Granny Smith apples and dehydrated them slowly for 9 hours so they are just the right amount of dry to let the rum pull all the apple flavor from them….we added some Meyer lemons, dropped in some cloves, some Timor Leste vanilla beans, and a couple of cinnamon sticks then of course to sweeten up the pot a bit, some fun shaped Christmas Vanilla Bean Sugar Cubes!
The longer this one sits, the better it will taste….think apple pie moonshine (but without the shine because yep, you guessed it….the fine State of Michigan frowns upon alcohol sales)…..so…..you just gotta add the rum…..our fan fav is Kraken Gold Spiced rum, but we aren’t going to say you can’t use your favorite!!
For our zero proof friends….….add hot water….allow it to cool and seep at least 8 hours and overnight if possible. Then add to your favorite mocktail mix and enjoy!
This makes 8 pours, but can be refilled for a 2nd infusion for a total of 16 pours!
